The Best Practices Report describes innovate programs and policies implemented by public and private entities throughout the nation.
Some of the innovative projects studied include:
- Wholesome Wave program - supplies high-need public schools with fresh produce from local farms.
- Louisiana Comprehensive Master Plan for a Sustainable Coast - outlines strategies to protect and restore the economic and environmental health of the state
- Atlanta BeltLine - a 22-mile rails-to-trails project that links 45 city neighborhoods
- Low Impact Development (LID) Design Guidelines - encourage developers to use environmentally-sensitive techniques to manage stormwater runoff.
